The Eagle Scout Award is the highest award available to youth members of the Boy Scouts of America. It is a recognition by the National Court of Honor, presented through the local council and a local court of honor.

Peterson, a senior at Juanita High School, also is taking classes at Bellevue College and DigiPen. He plans to pursue a career in computer science. Yandle, a Lake Washington High School graduate, is a freshman at the University of Washington Bothell, where he is pursuing studies in interactive media design.

In 1976, the troop awarded its first eagle rank. Through 2014, 79 boys in Troop 570 had earned the rank of eagle. In 2015, another nine members achieved eagle status. Besides Peterson and Yandle, they are Alexander Rayburn (Lake Washington High and Nova Southeastern University – Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.); Eben Schumann (Aviation High School and Whitman University); and from Inglemoor High: Max Gordon, Ben Nussbaum, Gavin Parpart, Jason Schindler, and Arthur Taylor.
