Inglemoor High Key Club adviser Joyce Lyons and 20 student members cooked a batch of soft tacos for residents of the homeless camp. Food was shared and there was plenty of good conversation to go around. Donations came from Key Club members and the Northshore Kiwanis Club.

“It’s a real joining of the different age groups. Everyone gains a better appreciation for each other,” Lyons said.

Club Vice President Jason Nadeau said he’s impressed how residents are trying to “fight back” from their unfortunate situations. He and his fellow classmates enjoy interacting with the folks so much that they’ve signed on for another dinner Jan. 26.

“We don’t want to stop,” he said.

Added club President Elsa Watland: “Out of all the service we do, this one we really serve. These are people who need us.”
