Traffic Alert: Kirkland classic car show, July 30

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Kirkland Classic Car Show to be held Sunday, July 30, in downtown Kirkland.

Street closures and detours will be in place on Sunday from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. The public boat launch will remain open, however boaters should expect delays. Event goers are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, and plan for their parking in advance.

The following street closures will be in effect on Sunday: Lake Street from Central Way to 2nd Avenue S; Main Street from Central Way to Kirkland Avenue; Kirkland Avenue from Main Street to city dock; Park Lane from Lake Street to 3rd Street; Lakeshore Plaza; Lake and Central and Lakeshore Plaza Parking Lots.

Event organizers anticipate more than 12,000 car enthusiasts will attend the event which raises money for the Kirkland Downtown Association.
