Ribbons for Black Lives Matter

The display at Marina Park coincides with statewide efforts of the local King County Black Lives Matter chapter.

Seemingly to coincide with a statewide silent protest and strike being put on by Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County, a Kirkland resident has decorated a statue at Marina Park in tribute of the movement.

At the statue featuring several children, yellow ribbon has been placed around them with “Black Lives Matter” written on it. Earlier in the year blue ribbons were added to the statue and trees throughout the city to spread hope during the COVID-19 pandemic and the tragic outbreak at Kirkland Life Care Center.
