The Kirkland Cultural Arts Commission invites the public to the fourth annual Mayor’s CACHET Award at 6 p.m. on April 2 at the Kirkland Performance Center. The event is free to the public.

Kirkland Mayor Amy Walen will present the 2014 CACHET Award and Jacquelina’s “Dances of Spain” will perform classical Spanish and Flamenco Dances.

The Mayor’s CACHET award honors an individual or business for contributions to Kirkland’s arts, culture and/or heritage. The 2013 awards went to Sue Contreras for her restoration of Kirkland’s historic 1935 ferry clock and Studio East Training Center for the Performing Arts.

The Kirkland Cultural Arts Commission is a volunteer board that advises the City Council on art acquisition and promotes strategic arts planning in Kirkland. To further its efforts, the Collaboration of Arts, Culture, Heritage, Education and Theater (CACHET), a subcommittee of the Cultural Arts Commission, was created to promote networking and collaboration between arts lovers, arts organizations, and arts businesses. This event is hosted by CACHET.

The Kirkland Performance Center is located at 350 Kirkland Ave. in Kirkland. RSVP at www.2014cachetawards.eventbrite.com.
