Merrill Gardens to host Senior Art Show: ‘Seniors are Artists Too’

Merrill Gardens at Kirkland hosts the 2nd Annual Senior Art Show June 2–15. The Kirkland Senior Council is sponsoring the show and has selected Merrill Gardens at Kirkland as the host site for the senior art exhibit titled: “Seniors Are Artists Too.”

The Kirkland Senior Council is sponsoring the show and has selected Merrill Gardens at Kirkland as the host site for the senior art exhibit titled: “Seniors Are Artists Too.” The art show will feature painting, sculpture, photography, quilting, and other media done by local senior artists. Merrill Gardens will host an artists’ reception featuring live jazz with the Ev Stern Trio from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, in conjunction with this year’s “Second Thursday” downtown Art Walk. The senior art show installation will remain on display in the Merrill Gardens lobby, free to visitors until June 15.

Every second Thursday of the month throughout the summer, Merrill Gardens at Kirkland will celebrate the Kirkland tradition of the summer art walk by offering art and live jazz in the early evening. Visitors are welcome to enjoy free live music, art, and light refreshments in the Merrill Gardens at Kirkland lobby, every second Thursday starting at 6 p.m. Wine and beer are available for purchase in the newly-opened “RD’s Bistro” in the Merrill Gardens lobby. Merrill Gardens at Kirkland is located at 201 Kirkland Avenue, Kirkland, in the heart of downtown Kirkland. Scheduled dates include: June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, and Sept. 9.
