Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra presents ‘The Planets’

The Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra will perform the opening concert of its second season on at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue.

The Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra will perform the opening concert of its second season on at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue. The concert will begin with Mendelssohn’s Ruy Blas Overture, followed by Dvořák’s Cello Concerto featuring Korean born cellist Eric Han. The program will finish with a multi-media presentation of Gustav Holst’s symphonic suite, The Planets, with selected voices from Westminster’s women’s choir.
The performance of “The Planets” will be accompanied by a stunning visual presentation of images of the cosmos. The technical staff at Westminster will use their state of the art Environmental Projection System to surround the orchestra with large scale images of the planets. The innovative combination of music and visual art will enhance the audience’s appreciation of Holst’s great music.
The Westminster Chapel is located at 13646 NE 24th St. in Bellevue.
