Lake Washington Half and 5K in Kirkland Nov. 5

The 2016 Lake Washington Half and 5K event will take place from 7 a.m to noon on Nov. 5, impacting many intersections in the city. The expected attendance for the event is 1,000 people.

The 2016 Lake Washington Half and 5K event will take place from 7 a.m to noon on Nov. 5, impacting many intersections in the city. The expected attendance for the event is 1,000 people.

The half marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K will start at 8 a.m. in the east bound lanes of Juanita Drive, go around the city and finish at Juanita Beach Park.

The NE Juanita Drive east-bound lane from 93rd Avenue to 98th Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Detour Signs will be in place for the race and motorists. The timeline below gives an approximate time frame that runners will be at the listed intersections. The bulk of the runners will be onto the new Cross Kirkland Corridor trail by 9:30 a.m. for the half marathon.

  • 20th Avenue West and Market Street – 7:35 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.
  • Market Street and 6th Street West – 7:36 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Waverly Way and Market Street 7:40 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.
  • Kirkland Ave and Lake Street – 7:47 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
  • Lake Washington Blvd. and Lakeview Drive – 7:50 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.
  • Lake Washington Blvd. and NE 38th Place – 7:55 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • NE 38th Place and 108th Avenue NE – 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
  • 108th Avenue NE and Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail – 8:02 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.
  • Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail and NE 112th Street – 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • NE 112th Street and Forbes Creek Drive – 8:31 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
  • Forbes Creek Drive and Market Street – 8:39 a.m. to 11:05 a.m.
