Kirkland player headed to Pokémon national championship

Kirkland resident Kendhal Burk, 6, is heading to Indianapolis in a few weeks to compete at the 2013 Pokémon U.S. National Championship.

Kirkland resident Kendhal Burk, 6, is heading to Indianapolis in a few weeks to compete at the 2013 Pokémon U.S. National Championship.

Taking place over the weekend of July 5, this will be the largest tournament of the season as more than 2,000 players, supporters and fans are expected to attend.

Kendhal will compete against elite Pokémon players from around the country in hopes of earning the esteemed title of national champion as well as an invitation and travel award to the 2013 Pokémon World Championships in Vancouver, B.C. this August.
