Kirkland blanket drive aims to ‘Wrap a Senior in Love’

Every year, numerous seniors in local nursing homes will spend the holidays alone and forgotten. But businesses and individuals on the Eastside are making a difference by participating in the “Wrap a Senior in Love” Community Campaign.

Every year, numerous seniors in local nursing homes will spend the holidays alone and forgotten. But businesses and individuals on the Eastside are making a difference by participating in the “Wrap a Senior in Love” Community Campaign.

Organized by Makaylaa Powers, owner of Visiting Angels in Kirkland, the goal is to ensure that every senior in a nursing home on the Eastside will be remembered during the holiday season.

Eastside businesses and organizations can donate a specific amount of blankets through a Web site at www.wrapaseniorinlove.com, or implement a donation program and encourage employees to give through the online purchase system. Individuals can also go to the Web site and purchase a blanket.

Each blanket sells for $25.
