Hike free this Presidents Day Weekend

The U.S. Forest Service, in honor of America’s Presidents, is giving visitors to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest a Presidents’ Day gift this weekend: free fun. Fees will be waived at more than 74 day-use sites on the forest Feb. 15-17.

The U.S. Forest Service, in honor of America’s Presidents, is giving visitors to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest a Presidents’ Day gift this weekend: free fun. Fees will be waived at more than 74 day-use sites on the forest Feb. 15-17.

You will still need a SnoPark permit for any SnoPark locations.  The SnoPark permit program is sponsored by the State of Washington.

Federal agencies are authorized to charge amenity fees at recreation sites to help maintain those sites.

Upcoming fee-free days:

• June 1, National Trails Day

• June 8, National Get Outdoors Day

• Sept. 28, National Public Lands Day

• Nov. 9-11, Veterans Day Weekend

The fee waivers are offered in cooperation with other federal agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. Check trail and road conditions or call the Forest Service office you plan to visit for more information.
