Aside from trick-or-treating, Kirklanders can celebrate Halloween in at least seven different ways this upcoming week.
Young children can enjoy the Pee Wee Monster Bash, while older kids and teens can scream their way through a haunted house.
The Howl-O-Wine Fundraiser will give dog owners the opportunity to spend time with their dog and enjoy a glass of wine or two.
And when the ghouls, monsters, witches, vampires and ghosts retreat, Evergreen Pediatrics will buy back candy in an effort to help families maintain their health after Halloween is over.
Pee Wee Monster Bash

Kirkland’s annual Pee Wee Monster Bash guarantees a “not-too-spooky but just right kooky” time for children between 9 months to 5 years old.
Parents can register at online by inputting course code No. 40002.
Families are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the event, which will include a cookie walk, swamp fishing for treats, crafts and a monster movement course.
Parents should also leave strollers at home.
Cost: residents $10.95; non-residents $13.14, per child (including tax).
Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree

The Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree welcomes families with kids of all ages to come and enjoy games, candy, and a fall celebration for free.
Haunted House

The Haunted House is put on by the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club Keystone Club (a volunteer group of teens) who have ensured a scary haunted house. The haunted house is recommended for children 12 years and older.

Halloween Spooktacular Dance

Friendship Adventures, a project of Washington Autism Alliance and Advocacy, is holding a Halloween party and everyone’s invited.

Howl-O-Wine Fundraiser

Kirkland Dog Off-leash Group (KDOG) invites the community (and their dogs) to the Howl-O-Wine fundraiser at Northwest Cellars in Kirkland.
Ticket sales for this event support KDOG, which maintains Kirkland’s off-leash park, Jasper’s Dog Park. Similar donations have allowed Jasper’s Dog Park to get new cedar ground-cover to keep winter mud away.
The afternoon will be filled with wine tasting, human food and “pup-petizers” for the dogs. There will be music by “Marilyn & the G Strings,” Kirkland’s own original ukulele band and a costume contest for owner and dog.
Prizes will be awarded for best dog costume and best dog-human coordinated costumes.

Specially labeled Jasper’s Dog Park wines, “Unleashed Red and Bow Wow White,” will be available for purchase with 40 percent of sales donated to KDOG.
Juanita High School DECA Haunted House

Juanita High School DECA students will present their second annual haunted house and games event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The haunted house will progressively get scarier later in the evening. For young children there will also be games, candy and prizes along with the opportunity to wear costumes.
The haunted house is recommended for ages 6-17 and games are for those ages 1-9.
Cost: Admission is free but donations will be collected to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Howl-at-the-Moon Muttmixer

The Halloween event will include a costume contest with prizes and “tricks for treats.”

Downtown Kirkland Trick or Treat

Trick-or-treaters are invited to creep through downtown Kirkland to collect Halloween treats from participating businesses.
Businesses will have a Halloween poster displayed on their doors or windows.
Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The event is sponsored by the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, explorekirkland.com and the Kirkland Downtown Association.
19th Annual Free Haunted House

The 19th annual community haunted house will come alive for a fun and unique experience. Look for the signs in the North Rose Hill neighborhood near Fire Station No. 26 to guide you to this kid-friendly event.
Free for all ages. Madam Spookalenfka, of Romania, will provide fun fortune-telling from her crystal ball.
Evergreen Pediatrics Halloween Candy Buyout

Evergreen Pediatrics will run a Halloween Candy Buyout program at both Kirkland and Wallingford locations.
The clinic will buy back candy for $1 per pound to help keep families from over indulging in Halloween candy.
