Eastside Symphony’s last concert of the 2014-2015 season is at 7:30 p.m. on May 16. The Spring Concert will be highlighted with an oboe performance featuring Kirkland resident Logan Esterling.

During his middle school and early high school years in Alabama, Esterling attended more than 20 honor bands throughout the state and also played in his local community band while playing the baritone saxophone. After relocating to Kirkland two years ago, he picked up an oboe for the first time and began studying privately with Susan Jacoby.

During his junior year, Esterling joined the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the Eastside Symphony. He placed first out of the oboe soloists at the Northlake Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival and went on to compete at the state level.

Esterling, a senior at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, has auditioned and placed in the All-Northwest Orchestra, comprised of the top student musicians from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. He will be attending the University of Washington in the fall, with plans to double major in Nursing and Music.

Tickets are $12 General, $9 students and seniors (62 and older), and complimentary tickets for children 12 and under.

The concert will be held at the Redmond Performing Arts Center located at 17272 NE 104th Street in Redmond. Full concert listings, links, and more information about the Symphony and Soloists can be found at www.eastsidesymphony.org.
