Following their 2009-10 blockbuster performances attended by thousands in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, Kirkland’s favorite Beatles cover band, Crème Tangerine, will celebrate the 70th birthday of John Lennon by recreating “The White Album” by The Beatles live, song by song, and in its entirety. Crème Tangerine will perform all the songs on that beloved classic rock masterpiece, and more at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 at The Triple Door (216 Union Street) in Seattle.

Tickets are available at www.tripledoor.net or at the Triple Door box office. Lennon’s birthday is Oct. 9.

The White Album, originally released in 1968 is a two record set highlighting the distinct personalities in the Beatles as they matured and moved away from each other. With the four playing like session men on each other’s songs, the project not only marked a new and final phase in the Beatles as a collaborative unit, but resulted in a work displaying moments of genius and diverse eccentricity.

The songs play out in a “what-will-happen-next” journey as the listener experiences styles ranging in the extreme, jumping from rock to ballad to jazz to punk to blues to avant-garde to country to vaudeville and lullaby. The White Album has been called a rock masterpiece. It was the number one selling album of the 1960’s on the Billboard charts, was ranked at No. 10 in Rolling Stones “500 Greatest Albums of All Time,” and included in Vibe’s “100 Essential Albums of the 20th Century.

Crème Tangerine is a dynamic five-piece band from Kirkland that performs the music of The Beatles for thousands each year. Rather than focusing on the personalities or look of the Beatles, Crème Tangerine focuses on performing their beloved music live for all to enjoy. Their performances have included The Beatles most recognized hits as well as different eras of the Beatles music and “the White Album” and “Abbey Road” in their entireties. Their high energy, quality performances appeal to those already familiar with and new to the music of The Beatles. Having released their debut album, “Crème Tangerine” in 2007, Crème Tangerine released their latest record, “The Abbey Road Project” in 2009.

Crème Tangerine has chosen to highlight both Music Aid Northwest and Northwest Harvest at the “White Album Experience” event.
