Death and injuries in crosswalks brings up a lot of questions.
What if we did not have crosswalks? Would pedestrians look both ways before trying to cross a street.
Accidents happen in crosswalks all too often. Pedestrians are ignoring what they’ve been taught since childhood about looking both ways before crossing a street.
Somewhere along the way someone has implanted the idea that you are safer in a crosswalk. Accidents are proving otherwise. Without crosswalks, at least pedestrians would then practice what they’ve learned from their parents and teachers. We would probably have fewer accidents.
