Last summer freeze-proof fountains were installed at the new lacrosse and soccer fields in Big Finn Park. This was a great and well worth the extra cost.
However, maintenance shut off the water for the winter. They may not be aware that these are freeze proof fountains and should be left on.
Freeze-proof fountains allow kids playing lacrosse and soccer during the winter to remain hydrated. It also can be used by runners and hikers. They are already installed, they should be utilized.
