Aegis of Kirkland wants to thank the Totem Lake Fred Meyer management team and their generous customers for their support of our Oso Landslide “Fill the Bus” donation drive last week.

Pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, water, pet food and lots of people food were donated April 1-3. Five Aegis vehicles caravanned up to Arlington drop-off sites.

Those of us who were able to man the drive were simply overcome by the generosity of their customers. Some people came out with grocery carts full of donations and then went back in to do their own shopping. Others did what they could, knowing every little bit helps.

Some customers knew people in Oso or had personal stories to share. It was a touching experience. Thanks to the generosity of their customers, the result of this collection will be a “store” where affected families can shop for what they need.

The volunteers were surprised and impressed with the large amount of new items that are now available for these families.
