I, too, was upset about Jeff Johnson’s cartoon showing a noose and the line that stated, “The only loophole for level 3 sex offenders.” It wasn’t big enough! I doubt that the death penalty deters others and don’t care. Once applied, the death penalty will sure “deter” the individual perpetrator. Right now, thanks to our gutless rulers in Olympia, we have this really nifty system where we spend millions to house and feed the molesters, then turn them loose in a “tracking” system that doesn’t work. Might as well turn a cobra loose in a classroom!

These people kill a lot of their victims, destroy the lives of those they don’t. It may be sad, but common sense sometimes dictates that violence has to be met with violence. As for the pretty words quoted by your offended writer? Perhaps they should be required reading for all the victims who spend years in therapy trying to put together their shattered lives. I’m sure the mercy shown for their attackers will effect a miraculous cure.
