No coverage of the Fourth of July events in Reporter | Letter

All the staff on the Kirkland Reporter must have been out of town last weekend.

All the staff on the Kirkland Reporter must have been out of town last weekend. Not one word, not one picture and no mention of one of the largest and longest running volunteer effort in this community appeared in your paper.  There are hundreds of volunteers who make this celebration of our nation’s birthday the great spectacle that it is. Some of these volunteers work on it for months making sure everything goes as planned.  The largest kiddie parade ever, a parade with veterans and floats all dedicated to the 70th anniversary of D-Day 1944, many food trucks at Marina Park and a great fireworks show to finish off the event and you don’t even acknowledge the hours of work that went into this.

So disappointing when the only newspaper in this town doesn’t bother to even mention the Fourth of July and Celebrate Kirkland. One week between the event and your publishing date and nothing. Why?
