Kenn Kullberg, in his March 4 letter, asked for specific projects on which the money raised by the Lake Washington School District bond will be spent and in which years it will be spent.
The actual ballot measure is now posted on the King County Elections website.
The measure specifies the exact projects that will be paid for by this bond measure. Dates when the projects will be completed are reflected on the district’s website at www.lwsd.org/news/2016-bond. Measures passed in 1998 and 2006 also indicated the specific projects to be built in the language presented to voters on the ballot. These projects have all been completed as identified in those measures.
Mr. Kullberg mentions his sense of déjà vu on having Juanita High School on this measure. The district has asked for funding to rebuild Juanita High School on bond measures in 2010 and 2014. While those measures did receive approval from a majority of voters, they did not garner the 60 percent needed to pass so the district received no funding for that project.
