Let the council know how you feel about transit on corridor and wear green | Letter

As a longtime Kirkland resident, I'm extremely concerned about the planned bus rapid transit on the cross Kirkland trail, our City Council's direction and the lack of community input.

As a longtime Kirkland resident, I’m extremely concerned about the planned bus rapid transit on the cross Kirkland trail, our City Council’s direction and the lack of community input. The council needs to hear from the people who care about protecting the cross Kirkland trail.

We have a limited time to show our strength to the Council, and to tell them that we want them to keep the bus rapid transit on I-405 and optimize the newly designed I-405 HOV lanes.

We have a very short window to make a difference and we need your help.

Here is what you can do:

Attend the City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at City Hall (wear green).

Attend the Keeping Kirkland Moving Open House at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Kirkland Performance Center (wear green).

Email the Council with your thoughts.

Like the SaveOurTrails.org Facebook page for continual updates (https://www.facebook.com/Save.Our.Trail.org/).

The Council will make their recommendation to Sound Transit on Dec. 13, and we need to act loud and fast to make a difference. Please wear green to show citizen solidarity to the Council. Let’s make a difference and change this direction.

Hope to see you next week wearing your green.
