Existing pool facility many in Kirkland do not know about

While the city leaders of Kirkland and Redmond study the idea of a jointly operated community indoor recreation facility and pool, I'd like to point out that there is an existing facility open to the public that many do not know about. It is the Randy & Rod Halvorson ReCreation Center

While the city leaders of Kirkland and Redmond study the idea of a jointly operated community indoor recreation facility and pool, I’d like to point out that there is an existing facility open to the public that many do not know about. It is the Randy & Rod Halvorson ReCreation Center located at Washington Cathedral at 12300 Redmond-Woodinville Rd., just south of 124th St. The facility has been open just over a year and has several activities available for all to enjoy, such as a free open-gym night every Monday from 6:309 p.m. There is also the Eastside’s only zero degree entry pool, which allows unassisted access for people who use a wheelchair. More information on open swims, toddler swims, water exercise classes, after-school tutoring, Holy Yoga and many other activities there is available at www.wacathedral.org or by calling 425-869-LIFE (5433).
