Don’t tell me how to vote on the bond | Letter

I can no longer be quiet while my taxes keep going up every year because of one bond or another.

I can no longer be quiet while my taxes keep going up every year because of one bond or another.

About a year ago, it was a park bond and a street repair bond. Now, the Lake Washington School District is throwing more bonds at us and in another year it will most likely be an aquatic center bond.

Lets deal with the school bond for the April 22 election. What is it that these people, who write letters in the Reporter telling me to vote for this bond, don’t understand?

First, I don’t need someone who is in bed with the school board telling me how to vote. I am another retired Kirkland citizen who is being taxed out of my property.  Jill Stoddart, Chairperson for the Redmond Action Group and Matt Gregory, maybe you can afford more taxes for newer schools but I do not feel I can handle another large increase in taxes.

As for Shelly Flores, well I think it is wonderful that you can afford to send your sons to the University of Washington and Lancaster University in Lancaster England. You recently became a board member of the Lake Washington PTSA  council, which tells me you have a bias.

Don’t any of you tell me how to vote as a retired person, who is slowly being priced out of my home with bond after bond after bond. No thank you.

Duane Illg, Kirkland
