City of Kirkland needs community vote on Parkplace

One assumes that the members of the Kirkland City Council, Planning Commission, and Design Review Board have been reading the letters to the Kirkland Reporter on the subject of the proposed development of Parkplace.

One assumes that the members of the Kirkland City Council, Planning Commission, and Design Review Board have been reading the letters to the Kirkland Reporter on the subject of the proposed development of Parkplace. If so, they must be very uncertain as to what the majority of residents would like to see there, given the number of letters either supporting or opposing the current proposal.

This issue is so important to the future of the City of Kirkland and its residents, that a referendum would seem to be in order. This is the only way the members of our city government could get an accurate sense of what the community wants, and it would be well worth the time and money required to avoid a serious mistake.
