Umpqua Bank hires Andrew Barlass

Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corp., hired Andrew Barlass as senior vice president and manager of Umpqua’s commercial banking in Bellevue. In this role, Barlass is charged with overseeing and expanding the bank’s commercial loan portfolio in the greater Bellevue and east Seattle-metropolitan area.

“We are pleased to welcome Andy to our commercial banking team,” said Danielle Burd, executive vice president and Washington state commercial region manager. “Andy brings a wealth of leadership and experience to the team and will be a tremendous resource for our commercial banking customers. I look forward to working with him as we continue to expand Umpqua Bank’s presence in Western Washington.”

Barlass has 38 years of banking and financial services experience, including oversight of large loan portfolios, determining credit quality, and managing all aspects of new business development. Before joining Umpqua Bank, he was the president, CEO and founder of the Bank of Bellevue. His experience also includes serving as senior vice president and team leader at Seafirst Bank, now Bank of America, for more than 18 years.

Barlass earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. and has completed Duke University’s bank management program. Barlass is an active member of the community and previously served as the president of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a board member for the Bellevue Schools Foundation and the Bellevue Downtown Association and is currently a board member for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. Barlass and his family reside in Kirkland.
