The Game Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Kirkland has been named the AWB (Association of Washington Business) Helping People in Need.

There are few more vulnerable people than the abused children and non-abusive parents who turn to the Eastside Domestic Violence Program for help. The Game Neighborhood Grill and Bar has made helping children and families of abuse a priority. In recent years, the company has supported the Eastside Domestic Violence Program by donating food for events where adult and child victims of domestic violence can engage in fun family activities in a safe place. The Game has also provided gifts for the group’s holiday program and raised $300 through its Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser.

The Game’s community service, however, extends beyond its concern for domestic violence victims. Other community services it supports are Youth Eastside Services, Meals On Wheels, Hopelink and Tent City, Finn Hill. Additionally, the Game stepped up to the plate in the midst of a terrible community tragedy and raised money for the family of an 18-year-old Kirkland man who was shot and killed at a party. The Game is located at 13510 100th Ave. N.E.
