Tech-City celebrates 50th with festivities

TechCity Bowl, a 32-lane bowling and restaurant complex in Kirkland, will celebrate its 50th anniversary July 25 through Aug. 8 with two weeks of events, including: give-aways; free bowling clinics for kids and seniors; free family bingo; a nostalgic ‘50s day with 50¢ bowling; and classic car show.

TechCity Bowl, a 32-lane bowling and restaurant complex in Kirkland, will celebrate its 50th anniversary July 25 through Aug. 8 with two weeks of events, including: give-aways; free bowling clinics for kids and seniors; free family bingo; a nostalgic ‘50s day with 50¢ bowling; and classic car show.

TechCity Bowl is also hosting charity events for Hopelink and Pasado’s Animal Safe Haven during the celebration.

TechCity Bowl (formerly known as Totem Bowl) is owned by the Gaines’ family, which has run the alley since its founding 50 years ago in downtown Kirkland in the current Howard/Mandville Gallery spot.

TechCity Bowl was the state’s first bowl/glow-in-the-dark venue (aka X-Bowl) and the first center to offer non-smoking lanes.
