Shop Small Saturday in downtown Kirkland

At 10 a.m., join the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, the Kirkland Downtown Association, Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride, city officials and local merchants at the corner of Park Lane and Lake Washington Boulevard as they proclaim “Kirkland Shops Small” and kick off the Kirkland holiday shopping season.

Participating businesses will be drop-off locations for non-perishable food donations on behalf of Hopelink, an Eastside charity. Their goal is to collect as many donations as possible to fill the box with vital food supplies for those in need. Many stores will offer free gifts and incentives to customers who stop in on Nov. 30 and throughout the season.

In conjunction with the “Small Business Saturday,” a national promotion by American Express, the Kirkland Downtown Association invites you to shop small and shop local in Kirkland on Nov. 30. The purpose of “Small Business Saturday” is to draw attention to the many brick and mortar businesses in customers’ own towns that are frequently overlooked.

The Kirkland Downtown Association is also coordinating extended shopping hours in Kirkland this season. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from Dec. 5-21, participating businesses will be open until 8 p.m. or later to help you find the gifts you need and to encourage donations to Hopelink.
