Neil Johnson named Chief Operating Officer at Evergreen Hospital

Neil Johnson has been named the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center.

Neil Johnson has been named the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center.

Johnson will be responsible for clinical operations including nursing and professional services, and home health and hospice services. He was picked from a field of strong and talented candidates because of his experience and dedication to patients as well as the hospital staff. Johnson was the vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nurse executive at Bronson Healthcare Group in Michigan. He served as Bronson’s executive director of Nursing prior to being named vice president in May, 2008.

His accomplishments, experiences and passion for servant leadership make him the perfect choice for Evergreen.”

Johnson has extensive experience in trauma and emergency services. He initially planned to pursue a law degree after he graduated with a degree in political science and management. He spent the summer before law school working for a nurse anesthetist group and realized he had an interest in health care. Instead of law school, he went became a nurse. He worked in ICU then transferred to the emergency department. He began management and administration work in 1998 at Wishard Health Services in Indianapolis.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Hanover College, a Bachelor of Science, Nursing from Indiana University and a Masters in Science Administration from Central Michigan University.
