Kidd Valley restaurants will host a bevy of hot, sizzling events in honor of the popular Puget Sound burger shop’s 35th anniversary throughout the month. Highlights include a grilling showdown between local firefighters for the title of “Burger Battle” champion, free burgers for patrons dressing like Kidd Valley’s famous Burger Babe in honor of Kidd Valley’s delicious Burger Babe, and a full line-up of special anniversary meals and deals!

“Our quality, made-to-order burgers, popular sides and hand-made milkshakes at Kidd Valley have been a favorite in the Puget Sound since 1975,” said Bob Donegan, vice president of Kidd Valley. “We serve up more than 800,000 burgers and 300,000 milkshakes annually and have thousands of loyal fans throughout the area. September is our month to say thank you with a calendar full of fun and freebies!”

Featured anniversary month activities include:

• Free Burgers for September Birthdays: for those born in September, come to a Kidd Valley restaurant (excluding stadium locations) on your birthday, and get a free burger or sandwich fixed just to your liking.

• Dress Like the Burger Babe Week, Sept. 12–18: as a tribute to Kidd Valley’s original retro Burger Babe mascot (see image), patrons who show up dressed like the burger babe and say “Happy Birthday” will receive a free cheeseburger!

• Firefighter Burger Battle, Sept. 25: local firefighters go head-to-head to see who has Puget Sound’s best grilling skills. The competitor who whips up the winning burger, as judged by a local foodie and celebrity panel, takes home a $1,000 Kidd Valley gift card. Plus, Kidd Valley will add a menu item inspired by the winner’s masterpiece for a limited time, with a portion of proceeds from the burger benefitting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an organization that firefighters around the country actively support through their popular “Fill-the-Boot” fundraisers. Who will smoke the competition? Find out Sept. 25 starting at 2 p.m. at the Aurora Kidd Valley (14303 Aurora Ave N, Seattle). Spectators will be treated to free sodas and fun Kidd Valley giveaways!

• $2.35 Month End Mini-Combo: On Thursday, Sept. 30, everyone can take advantage of the $2.35 Anniversary Special Mini Combo, which includes a mini cheeseburger, mini fries and mini drink.

“A lot of our regular customers are those in uniform, so we are proud to help fuel the city’s finest and bravest citizens with our big delicious burgers,” said Kidd Valley Director of Operations Sonia Pillman. “The burger battle is our way of showing appreciation to these men and women for all they do to help protect our community, while helping to support a very worthwhile cause.”
