Encore Creativity for Older Adults launches choral program in Redmond

The program is accepting registrations for its 15-week program.

America’s largest choral organization for adults over the age of 55, Encore Creativity for Older Adults, will launch its new Encore Chorale of Redmond this fall at the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal.

Members of the Redmond chorale will sing a mix of music from many styles and eras, and no auditions are necessary. The program is accepting registrations for its 15-week program that begins Thursday, Sept. 8.

“We are thrilled to start an Encore community in the Seattle region, our first program in the state of Washington,” said Joshua Vickery, CEO of Encore Creativity for Older Adults. “Our choral programs have enabled participants to discover a new passion, challenge themselves, foster new friendships and experience joy.”

The Encore Chorale of Redmond is led by Dr. Natalie C. Lerch, who has taught voice, diction, repertoire, chorus and musical theater workshops at the Cornish College of the Arts. Lerch has previously sung with the Seattle Philharmonic, and currently sings in an all-female vocal ensemble, Fine Rain Falling.

The Chorale will meet at the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal, located at 11526 162nd Ave. NE, on Thursdays from 2-3:30 p.m. Tuition for the program is $190 per person, and the organization plans to follow city, state and federal COVID-19 guidelines.
