Puget Sound Energy is seeking a route for a new transmission line between Redmond and Kirkland.

Puget Sound Energy invites the public to attend a community open house for a project update on the Sammamish-Juanita 115 kV Transmission Line Project.

The utility wants to construct 4.5 miles of 115 kilovolt line that would run from the Sammamish substation (9221 willows Rd. N.E. in Redmond) to the Juanita substation (10910 N.E. 132nd St. in Kirkland).

The open house is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology, West Building Room 401, 11605 132nd Ave. N.E., Kirkland.

Attend the open house to:

• Learn about the challenges facing the local electric system.

• Discuss PSE’s plans to address those challenges with a new 115 kV transmission line from the Sammamish Substation in Redmond to or near the Juanita Substation in Kirkland.

• Learn how the advisory group is working with a routing model.

• Provide input on the siting process and work to date.

• Ask questions.

This is an early opportunity to provide comments on the project’s progress. PSE will host another community meeting in early 2012 to gather additional feedback on the project.
