It was all uphill for hundreds of bikers Monday, but it was for a worthwhile cause.

Bikers raced along a 60-mile stretch through Kirkland for the annual 7 Hills of Kirkland bike event, sponsored by the Kirkland Kiwanis. Cyclists braved the rainy weather while riding to benefit the Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing and end homelessness.

The 7 Hills route covers Seminary Hill, Market Hill, Kingsgate Hill, Rose Hill, Winery Hill, Norway Hill and Juanita Hill.
