Published 2:50 pm Friday, October 7, 2011

Monday, Oct. 10, is the deadline for citizens to register online or through the mail to vote in the November general election, or to transfer or update their voter registration.

“Get ready for the November election by registering to vote or updating your information if you’ve moved or changed your name,” said Elections Director Sherril Huff. “It takes only a few minutes and it’s an important part of ensuring that you can vote. Our voter hotline and online tools make it easy to check and update your registration.”

Residents can register online, through the mail, by visiting the Elections office or by going to the new voter registration annex.

The “Your Voter Guide” online tool allows voters to view their voter registration information and a list of candidates and measures that will appear on their ballot.

Residents can also call the hotline, 206-296-VOTE (8683).

Voters who miss the Oct. 10 deadline to update their registration should contact the Elections office at 206-296-VOTE (8683).

King County residents not currently registered in Washington can register in person at the Elections office in Renton or at the voter registration annex in Seattle through Oct. 31.

Voters can visit King County Elections weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 919 SW Grady Way, Renton. Or, voters can visit the voter registration annex at the King County Administration Building weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 500 4th Avenue, Room 311, Seattle.
