First-quarter shutout leads Kangs to win against Saints | Prep girls basketball

The Lake Washington High School girls basketball team shutout Interlake during the first quarter of their game on Wednesday. The Kangs won the game 53-41 in Kirkland.

Lake Washington began the game with a 12-0 run during the first quarter and then the two teams played nearly shot-for-shot during the next three quarters.

Johanna Jahnke and Hanna Brender led the Kangs with 12 points each.

Lake Washington will play next at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Sammamish High School in Bellevue.
