Highlands neighborhood resident Karen Story was recently recognized with the Urban Forestry Stewardship Award by the Washington Community Forestry Council for her extensive volunteer efforts in improving Kirkland parks. During the Sept. 21 Kirkland City Council meeting, Story was presented the award for her commitment to her neighborhood, the city and the sustainability of our environment.
