On June 8, the Finn Hill Middle School concert band, under the direction of Ron Maier, and the Finn Hill concert choir, directed by Inger Kirkman, performed at the Music in the Parks competition in Federal Way.

Both groups received superior ratings from the judging panels and both won first place in their divisions. The groups together were awarded the “Esprit de Corps” award, which was given to the school that displayed the best teamwork, support of other schools and helpfulness.

After their performances, students spent the afternoon at Wild Waves with the other competing schools and ended the day at the awards ceremony at Wild Waves.
