Kirkland author releases illustrated book

Kirkland author Lisa C. Murphy and Seattle artist Liza Brown have released In My Father’s Garden, a collaborative book involving short, garden-centric stories.

Murphy, a local family physician and gardener, initially planned to use the book as a way to learn German. The stories were originally written as German essays.

Brown, a graphic designer and soprano who develops treatment methods for addiction through art and music, agreed to provide her art for the stories.

The results have been published in both German and English.
