Fourteen Juanita High School seniors donned their graduation caps and gowns and journeyed to their former elementary school to participate in the first-ever “grad walk” at John Muir Elementary School.

Current Muir students lined the hallways, cheered and clapped as the graduates walked through their former elementary school with “Pomp & Circumstance” playing over the school’s loudspeakers. Principal Jeff DeGallier congratulated seniors on their achievements.

After walking the hallways and high-fiving students, the JHS grads visited former teachers in their classrooms.

This grad walk was a first for Muir and Juanita, but it’s a new tradition administrators and other faculty hope will continue for years to come.
