Bivens leads LW to softball playoff victory

Lake Washington’s Tori Bivens earned the win and knocked in five RBIs as the Kangs defeated Bellevue, 10-4, in the 3A KingCo softball playoffs on Wednesday.

Lake Washington will next play Redmond for the title at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Inglemoor High.

Bivens fanned 14 batters and gave up just one hit in six and two-thirds innings of work. Olivia Smallman had two hits and two RBIs for LW.

• In other action, Redmond beat Juanita, 13-4, on Wednesday.

Juanita’s Lexi Blackburn had the team’s one hit: a home run.

Juanita will next play Bellevue at 5:30 p.m. Friday in a loser-out game.

The top three teams advance to districts.
