Northwest University shuts out Beacons | College men’s soccer

Northwest University (NU) scored three times during the first half and two times during the second half for a 5-0 shutout victory against Northwest Christian on Tuesday.
Odason Pelogi scored two goals and added an assist to lead the NU scoring. Trever Moll, Jacob Weaver and Chris Iacolucci also scored for NU.
Moll scored first, taking a Kyle Zimmerman cross pass and scored into the right side of the net from 18-yards out during the 16th minute. Jacob Weaver’s header over the top of NCU’s defense put NU up 2-0 at the 22:51 mark. Chris Iacolucci wrapped up the Eagle scoring in the first half as he intercepted the NCU goalkeeper’s clearing kick, beat a defender and put his shot into the lower left corner of the net.
Pelogi’s goals came less than two minutes apart, as he scored at 60:48 and 61:29. Chris Iacolucci assisted on Pelogi’s first goal and Todd Siedenburg put a through ball to Pelogi for his second goal.
Bren Bletscher had eight saves in goal for Northwest Christian (1-3-2, 0-2-1 CCC) in 82 minutes and Daniel Christenson earned the shutout for NU with seven saves in goal for the Eagles.
