The Samna Squares Square Dance Club will host a parking lot sale to raise money to donate to Hopelink’s school supply campaign on Aug. 29 in Kirkland.

The club’s 65 members have been gathering items for this sale all summer. Shoppers can find great bargains and support the work Hopelink does in the community. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Juanita Community Club located at 13027 100th NE in Kirkland.

Each September the Samena Squares welcomes and supports new dancers by offering lessons to people who want to learn to square dance and/or brush up on square dance calls. There will be a square dance lesson information night open to the public, at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10 at the Juanita Community Club. Lessons begin on Sept. 17 and run through March. Student dancers learn 50-plus mainstream dance calls preparing them to dance anywhere in the world.
