Chef John Howie and Craig Terrill are teaming up with Metropolitan Market in Kirkland for an action-packed Kick Hunger Challenge fundraising event from noon to 2 p.m. on Jan 17.
Representing the Seahawks, Howie and Terrill are the two-time returning Kick Hunger Challenge champs and they are planning to bring a third title home to Seattle. All proceeds from the Kick Hunger Challenge benefit Food Lifeline, where $1 provides four nutritious meals to those in need.
During the event, team members from various Metropolitan Market locations will compete in a chili cook-off and guests can taste and vote for their favorite to be crowned the winner.
The event will be held outdoors with a beer tasting garden, live music from Terrill and a $5 raffle with 10 different gift packages. Former Seattle Mariner Jay Buhner will also be making an appearance.
Howie’s cookbook, Passion & Palate, will be available for purchase. Each cookbook purchased at the event will contain a surprise envelope. Just to name a few options, this envelope could include a SPORT gift certificate, a Metropolitan Market gift certificate or a Russell Wilson rookie card.
