DECA students from Kirkland succeed at state business competition, move to Internationals

DECA students fromEastlake, Juanita, Lake Washington, and Redmond High Schoolstook a step toward success at the State Career Development Conference, where they competed against 3,600 other students. These students qualified to move on to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Fla., at the end of April. There will be over 17,000 students competing at this level from seven different countries.

Here are the students from Kirkland.

Juanita High School:

• Monisha Weerasundara (junior, Kirkland) – second place in Principles of Business Administration

• Oliver Jones (junior, Kirkland) – fifth place in Principles of Marketing
