The following is a release from Sen. Andy Hill’s campaign:

The Aerospace Futures Alliance of Washington (AFA) named Sen. Andy Hill as their Legislator of the Year for his leadership in securing continued investment and incentives for keeping Washington the home of aerospace on Sept. 30 at the ninth annual Governor’s Summit on Aerospace.

“Andy Hill’s leadership in keeping aerospace competitive long-term will benefit generations of families in Washington,” stated Linda Lanham, AFA President and Executive Director. “As international competition increases, Washington’s continued commitment to a healthy and growing aerospace industry will have a lasting impact in our local communities and across the country. Today, we want to recognize the role Andy Hill played in securing a future for aerospace in Washington.”

Hill was the primary sponsor of incentives to secure the manufacturing of Boeing’s new 777x line in Washington. His measure (SB 5952) passed with overwhelming bipartisan support from the Legislature to maintain and increase jobs in the state’s aerospace industry.

“Securing aerospace jobs is a great way to ensure the state will have a sustainable budget that funds education and other priorities,” Hill said. “Supporting the aerospace industry will provide a stable and growing economy for Washington families both now and in the future.”

The Aerospace Futures Alliance of Washington advocates for the continued growth and stability of the aerospace industry in Washington. The Annual Governor’s Summit features state and national leaders in aerospace industry and innovation over two days at Comcast Arena in Everett.
