Acacia Johnson’s goal just 46 seconds into the first overtime period, lifted Northwest University (NU) to a 1-0 victory over Evergreen this afternoon in Cascade Conference play.

NU took over the top spot in the league with nine points and a 3-0 record with the win Friday night.

For Johnson, it was her eighth goal of the season as she led NU (5-5-1, 3-0 CCC) with seven shots, four on goal. NU outshot Evergreen 20-6 and the Eagle defense limited Evergreen to just one shot on goal.

Patty Hughes earned the shutout for NU in goal.
