Kang comeback comes up short against Newport softball, 7-6

The Lake Washington softball team scored three runs during the top of the sixth inning but it wasn’t enough to defeat Newport as they lost on Friday, 7-6.

The Knights scored two runs during the first inning but the Kangs came right back to tie the game during their next at-bat.

Lake Washington took the lead during the top of the third inning, but Newport drew what would be a insurmountable lead by scoring four in the fourth and one more in the fifth.

The Kangs were led by Whitney Dunlap who went 4-for-4 with three RBI. Jenny Hill and Audrey Sundene hat multiple hits during the game.

Newport committed four errors during the game compared to just two for Lake Washington.
