Eagles win seventh straight league game | College women’s soccer

The Northwest University (NU) Eagles won their seventh straight CCC game with a, 3-1 victory over Eastern Oregon on Senior Day for the Mountaineers to remain in first place.
Acacia Johnson opened the Eagles scoring in the 11th minute of the game with her 15th goal of the season.
Eastern Oregon tried to answer as Kaeliana De Vera fired a shot that Eagle keeper, Patty Hughes saved. Later in the half, an EOU player picked up a red card which caused EOU to play shorthanded for the rest of the game.
Twenty-two minutes into the second half, the Eagles added to their lead as Jessie Nicholl found Kelsey Greene for a goal, making it 2-0. In the 75th minute, Greene paid back an assist with her own as she set up Johnson for her 16th goal of the year to end the scoring for NU.
Maddi Cillay helped EOU avert a shutout as she scored in the 87th minute.
NU remains in first place in the CCC with a 7-0 record and 21 points. Concordia sits in second with a 6-1 mark and 18 points.
