Kirkland residents Soham Purohit and Vincent Yang won the third-place bronze ball for doubles (12-and-under category) at the Winter National Tennis tournament in Tucson, Arizona.

The tournament saw 64 of the best youth doubles teams in the country compete for top honors for each age bracket. The local duo won the third-/fourth-place match, 6-3, 7-5. They both train at the Northwest High Performance Tennis Center, which is run at the Eastside Tennis Center in Kirkland. The Lake Washington School District students are coached by Northwest High Performance coaches, led by former pro tennis players Dan Willman and Brian Wilson.
