Kirkland advances to semifinals at Junior League Softball World Series; locals play at 5 p.m. tonight

Kirkland hammered 17 hits in a 13-3 victory over West (Missoula, Mont.) on Thursday at the Junior League Softball World Series at Everest Park.

In the six-inning game, the host team got two hits each from Kaia Bradford, Abbie Reynolds, Kaci Gordon, Anna Fridell, Maddy Miller and Amy Chen. Antonia Norman earned the win from the mound.

Kirkland will take on Southeast (Mechanicsville, Va.) at 5 p.m. Friday in the semfinals. Southeast (5-0) defeated Kirkland (3-2), 16-2, in an earlier matchup.
